What should operators check before travel?
A simple departure check should confirm the wheelchair is suitable/configured for the intended transport, correctly positioned, correctly secured, the occupant restraint is appropriately positioned, and the equipment is serviceable.

What happens when the normal setup cannot be achieved?
The operator should not improvise with safety-critical restraint equipment. Organisations should have a clear escalation process for damaged equipment, unclear wheelchair securement points, docking problems, poor belt routing or other situations where the system cannot be used as intended.
