RESNA WC-4 Section 18 (WC18) – WTORS

What does WC18 address?
WC18 focuses on the WTORS – the equipment used to secure the wheelchair and restrain the wheelchair-seated occupant during vehicle transport.
How is WC18 different from WC19?
WC18 and WC19 are not interchangeable. WC18 concerns WTORS. WC19 refers to the section addressing wheelchairs intended for use as seats in motor vehicles. This distinction is important when assessing whether the restraint system, the wheelchair, or both are suitable for a transportation application.
Where does WC18 sit within RESNA WC-4?
RESNA WC-4 is the Wheelchairs and Transportation volume. It contains separate sections covering different parts of wheelchair transportation, including WTORS, wheelchairs used as vehicle seats and wheelchair seating systems.
